HUMOR - Funny Buggy Happenings and |
|
While driving in Pennsylvania, a
family caught up to an Amish carriage. The owner of the carriage obviously had a sense of humor, because attached to the back of the carriage was a hand printed sign... "Energy efficient vehicle. Runs on oats and grass." |
|
A horse decided to run and while trying to hold him back, the hold back snap broke. His flying feet hitting the buggy only made him go faster. It took a 4 mile trip and a hill before the horse finally calmed down enough to get him stopped. |
An Amish man was in a store for approx. 15 minutes. When he came out the horse and buggy was gone. He thought someone was playing a trick on him. Someone in the store drove him to see if they could find the buggy. The horse and buggy had quite a trip before it was stopped. The Amish man made another stop. And when he came out, horse and buggy were gone again. This time when the horse was caught, the Amish man decided to see what was going on. He tied up the horse with a double slip knot. The horse took the rope in her mouth pulling on it until she was loose again. So the mystery of the disappearing horse and buggy was solved. |
A buggy traveling to wedding was almost at the stop light. As the driver pulled back the britching tore on the harness. The buggy hit the rear of the horse. You guessed it. The horse was off to the races. The horse made it through the stoplight and down the street leaving skid marks. He finally hit a car, then a bumper on a pickup truck. This caused a sudden stop throwing off the driver. The horse got loose and took off again making it down another street before it was caught. The horse was uninjured and the driver broke a wrist. |
Police were involved in a 2 mile low-speed pursuit early on a Sunday morning. The 17 year old Amish buggy driver was sound asleep and the horse was headed for the barn. The police used sirens, pounded on the side of the buggy, honked their horn and trotted along side the buggy. The driver did not wake up. The police were trying very hard to keep an accident from happening involving either the buggy driver or a unsuspecting automobile. The police finally parked their vehicle ahead of the buggy. The buggy hit one of the cruisers ejecting the unconscious driver. The buggy driver had passed out from drinking too much and only received minor scratches. The horse was uninjured. |
Two men headed for town had 15-20 deer run in front of their horse and buggy. One deer lost its footing and fell in front of the buggy. The wheel went over the deer's neck. The stunned deer got up and joined the rest of the deer. This may be the first incident of a buggy hitting a deer (Michigan). |

Why did the Amish couple get divorced? He was driving her Buggy! |
"A couple and child had some excitement while traveling via horse and buggy. The dad being scared of mice felt what he thought was a mouse climbing on his leg. Giving the lines a toss, he grabbed at the so called mouse and held on tight. The wife quickly grabbed the lines and the baby started crying. After going in circles with the horse and buggy in an open field, it was discovered that the so called mouse was none other than the baby's foot!". |
