Amish Cinnamon Bread
1 cup Amish friendship bread starter 1 cup oil
1 cup sugar 4 eggs
2 teasp. vanilla 2 teasp. baking soda
1 teasp. baking powder 1 cup raisins
1 cup flour 2 teasp. cinnamon
1 cup chopped apples or 2 medium bananas 1 pkg. instant pudding vanilla or banana - 3 oz.
1 cup chopped pecans

  • Preheat oven to 325 deg.  Grease three 9x5 loaf pans
  • Place starter in bowl, stir in oil, sugar, eggs and vanilla.  Mix well.
  • Combine flour, b. soda, b. powder, pudding, and cinnamon.  Add to the starter mixture and beat by hand.  Add pecans, raisins and apples or bananas.  Mix well.
  • Pour batter in pans
  • Bake for 1 hour.

 

 

Stew

2 cans tomato soup 3 large potatoes peeled and cubed
6-7 carrots sliced 1 can peas - juice and all
1 onion sliced 1 can water (tomato soup size)
1 teasp. salt pepper to taste
Stew meat, browned or use
canned meat or leftover meat
bay leaf or 1/2 teasp. leaf shredded
Put all together in large rooster in over for 5 hours at 300 deg.

Lubkuchen
4 eggs

2 cup brown sugar
1-3/4 cup flour 1/2 teasp. salt
1 teasp. baking powder

1 teasp. cinnamon
1/4 teasp. cloves 3/4 cup coffee
3/4 cup nuts chopped

3/4 cup raisins
  • Beat eggs till thick and softly piled.
  • Gradually add sugar beating well
  • Sift flour, salt, b. poweder, and spices.  Stir in to egg mixture alternately with coffee beating only until blended.
  • Stir in nuts and raisins.
  • Pour batter into bottom only greased 13x9 pan.
  • Bake 350 deg. for 30-35 minutes.

    Cinnamon Rolls
    4 tablsp. yeast 2 cups bread flour
    1 qt. warm water 3/4 cup sugar
    3 tablsp. oil 8 cups doughnut mix
    • Mix yeast in water.  Mix all ingredients together and let rise.
    • Roll out on a floured board, brush with melted butter, and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
    • Roll in jelly roll fashion.
    • Cut and put in greased pans.
    • Bake at 350 deg. for 10-12 minutes or until brown.
    • Frost while warm..  Makes around 30 rolls or 5 pans.
